Filming for the Next Billion Years

I heard a message today given to media professionals by a theology professor. It was quite interesting and very eye-opening.

There are certain things that we will do for a time on Earth, which is good & Godly, and then it will cease as the earth meets eternity after Jesus returns. Evangelism, for example, will not be in heaven. Why would it be? Everyone will already be saved.

Other things will go on for eternity: prayer, worship, storytelling... Wait, what? God is one who does keep records. Look at His word. It's full of poetry, proverbs, history, letters, direct revelation & so much more. Something this professor was saying today was that angels are keeping records of events. So although evangelism may cease - reporting will not.

I want to be a reporter for God's kingdom. God has His eye on media, and it's time to express Him through it. Not necessarily the way that we see on TV or the movies, but in a way that grips people more than Batman ever could.  He wants prophetic messengers who will capture His heart throughout the earth in bold, artistic ways.

His healing spirit breaks out in Lakeland, FL, and He partners with media pros to broadcast it across the globe (god.tv). His spirit touches someone personally and he/she writes a story, raises money, hires people and makes a movie. Jesus' heart is being expressed through a 14 year old girl to a homeless guy in South America, and someone is there with a camera, waiting to share with the Western world what more people can do. People pray & worship night & day in a single room for years at a time, and 7 robotic cameras, several teams of people and one trailer ensure that it is online for anyone to view at anytime (theprayerroom.tv).

All I'm trying to say is that He is raising people up to be messengers & reporters for HIS Kingdom. Let Him refine you into who He wants you to be, and see what He does with you.

AMSTERDAM: postponed

Looks like this trip will be postponed.
Maybe until next year.

Basically my buddies are unable to go, and I'm hesitant to do something like this alone as Jesus sent disciples out 2 by 2.

Be praying as final decisions are made.

Did You Know...

...that there is a sweet rock climbing facility in Holland?
(it's called Between Heaven & Earth)

...that there is a cool circus training school in Europe?

...that there is a massive venue in the heart of Amsterdam?

...that all three of these locations used to be churches?

Yup, and there's many more.

But Christ will be exalted again.

Please pray about becoming a supporter of this trip.

What can I really do?

What can we do to reach an entire nation?

Can we just go for a time and expect people to change?

I've been in America for 24 years, and it's only getting worse...

So what makes me think I can do anything in Amsterdam?

The same thing that we need to do to see revival anywhere.

Live out Psalm 126:5.

"Those who sow in tears will reap with joyful shouting."

Off to Amsterdam Pt. 1

The Team

The Mission...

Amsterdam. It’s time to go back. I've been on 2 ministry trips there since 2004, and ss I prepare to go this summer, I’m realizing that unless I prepare in prayer, my going is in vain. Prayer is the most important thing. Leonard Ravenhill said that people shouldn’t preach until God kicks them out of the prayer closet. Without prayer, I am nothing; for it is only in that place of closeness with our Creator that we can truly find ourselves. Above all, that is what I ask from you.

What's Under the Surface?

Many are aware of the legalized drugs & brothels, but few people know about true Holland. After massive persecution during WW2 ended, the people declared a yearly Liberation Day to celebrate. Over the years, they’re cry for freedom has slowly turned into tolerance. Tolerance to the point where there’s a gay party going on outside a church at their Homo-Monument and no one flinches. I’m sure that believers haven’t always tolerated this, but when church buildings are turning into rock climbing centers and event venues, what can we expect... and what needs to be done?

Get the Church!

Not long ago, I knew God was calling me to go back to Amsterdam and help build the house of prayer. I asked my acquaintance Mareah, who is from Holland, and she said that unity in the church is essential to reaching these people. I’ve desired to pray for many things in this sin city of the world. However, the Holy Spirit has consistently led me to pray for unity among the believers. God wants to use His bride to reach this city.

Daddy Defined

Being a husband is not a prerequisite to being a father...
(and I'm not permitting pre-marital sex)

"Even though you have 10,000 guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers..." (I Cor. 4:15)

"And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse." (Malachi 4:6)

God is our Father in Heaven, and He wants more people like Him. I believe He is looking to & fro throughout the earth for people with hearts like His own. He is a Father, and He lovingly disciplines us like a Father. He holds us as a Father. We can sit in His lap as a child does with his or her father.

However, many fathers today have abandoned their families, whether physically, emotionally or verbally. Maybe even spiritual things have led him astray. The devil is tricky, but not as powerful as those who walk according to Christ. For we have overcome him through our Big Daddy.

It's difficult for many to even comprehend God as a loving Father, because of their experiences with unloving ones. With abortion rampant & accepted, men are able to abandon their families much earlier. Men, we will be held more responsible for abortion in America than women. We are the leaders and the heads of households.

If we are held responsible for this atrocity, then what should our response be?
If we are to begin living as Godly fathers, then what does this look like?
Is adoption a practical answer that God is giving us to redeem the fatherless?

"I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist him." - Job (Job 29:12)

"[Jesus] defends the cause of the fatherless  and the widow... giving him food and clothing." (Deut. 10:18)

Day 6 - Fat Tuesday

Last Days
Fat Tuesday, the biggest day of Mardi Gras. We finished the 24/7 Prayer Room, with about 18 people that wandered in and came to know the Lord. A young man named Benjamin was saved on this day. De'Shon, Stephen & Benjamin were three young men who dedicated their lives to Jesus this week. After midnight on one of the largest party days in the world, these 3 men were baptized, becoming new creations in Christ. (II Cor. 5:17)

The Return
Hours before we were set to return to Kansas City, God opened a door for De'Shon to come back with us. He left his former life in New Orleans, and came to IHOP to start fresh with the Lord. Be praying as he steps into this new life (and culture). God's leadership is perfect
Love 4 Leadership
A true father's heart is rare these days, but I believe we've found one in our fearless leader. Chuck, your compassion is unsurpassed, and as the general of this army you always equipped us with the "belt of truth." You never relented to share the word of God, give a prayer or any of the many other ways you poured yourself out. Thank you, Chuck.
As a leader, one of your main roles is to serve
people - going under them in order to lift them up. Mary, we felt your prayers in the day as you led the Night Watch. During your waking hours, your caring words and encouraging smile shined  from a pastor's heart.
This prayer warrior did more than just take charge
of a prayer room in the unique setting of Mardi Gras. He led worship with our great musicians and shared the Lord with the lost. Most of all, I see Peter as a man of character, leading by example and loving with compassion. Thank you, Peter, for your leadership and diligence on this trip.
This man of God flows with the word of God like a
river flows with water. Sean remained steadfast and strong, regardless of the opposition we faced. He seemed to be a natural at this kind of thing.  Just as God has taught you to share His word with people, so He is using you to teach others. His plans for you are great.

We'd like to say a BIIIIG....
...Thank You!
To the CRI Team (www.criout.org) who served through transportation, housing and food preparation during the whole trip. You truly are enablers.
To the Intercessors who I believe are a huge part of "preparing the way" for authentic ministry. "Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy." -Ps. 126:5
To Hal Linhardt & the IHOP Evangelism Team for encouraging and enabling us. Not all your work & support can be recognized, but that's what treasures in heaven are for. :)
To Vieux Carre Baptist Church for The Overflow Cafe. You also enabled personal evangelism as we brought people from the streets back to your wonderful dwelling place.
To Vieux Carre Assembly of God for an awesome opportunity to have a prayer room. We never want to do an outreach with a prayer room now. May your ministry be blessed.
To Mark & Robin Drouin with Central City Missions for the wonderful place to stay. You have a beautiful place there. God bless you. (www.centralcitymissions.com)
To the Most High Savior of this world, who will be returning soon. Jesus Christ, thank you for all those that you welcomed into your eternal kingdom this week. Thank you for all the seeds planted and watered, that you will be bringing to yourself soon. Thank you for who you are and the glory that you released on this trip. What's next, Jesus?

Video Updates!
