Filming for the Next Billion Years

I heard a message today given to media professionals by a theology professor. It was quite interesting and very eye-opening.

There are certain things that we will do for a time on Earth, which is good & Godly, and then it will cease as the earth meets eternity after Jesus returns. Evangelism, for example, will not be in heaven. Why would it be? Everyone will already be saved.

Other things will go on for eternity: prayer, worship, storytelling... Wait, what? God is one who does keep records. Look at His word. It's full of poetry, proverbs, history, letters, direct revelation & so much more. Something this professor was saying today was that angels are keeping records of events. So although evangelism may cease - reporting will not.

I want to be a reporter for God's kingdom. God has His eye on media, and it's time to express Him through it. Not necessarily the way that we see on TV or the movies, but in a way that grips people more than Batman ever could.  He wants prophetic messengers who will capture His heart throughout the earth in bold, artistic ways.

His healing spirit breaks out in Lakeland, FL, and He partners with media pros to broadcast it across the globe (god.tv). His spirit touches someone personally and he/she writes a story, raises money, hires people and makes a movie. Jesus' heart is being expressed through a 14 year old girl to a homeless guy in South America, and someone is there with a camera, waiting to share with the Western world what more people can do. People pray & worship night & day in a single room for years at a time, and 7 robotic cameras, several teams of people and one trailer ensure that it is online for anyone to view at anytime (theprayerroom.tv).

All I'm trying to say is that He is raising people up to be messengers & reporters for HIS Kingdom. Let Him refine you into who He wants you to be, and see what He does with you.

Did You Know...

...that there is a sweet rock climbing facility in Holland?
(it's called Between Heaven & Earth)

...that there is a cool circus training school in Europe?

...that there is a massive venue in the heart of Amsterdam?

...that all three of these locations used to be churches?

Yup, and there's many more.

But Christ will be exalted again.

Daddy Defined

Being a husband is not a prerequisite to being a father...
(and I'm not permitting pre-marital sex)

"Even though you have 10,000 guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers..." (I Cor. 4:15)

"And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse." (Malachi 4:6)

God is our Father in Heaven, and He wants more people like Him. I believe He is looking to & fro throughout the earth for people with hearts like His own. He is a Father, and He lovingly disciplines us like a Father. He holds us as a Father. We can sit in His lap as a child does with his or her father.

However, many fathers today have abandoned their families, whether physically, emotionally or verbally. Maybe even spiritual things have led him astray. The devil is tricky, but not as powerful as those who walk according to Christ. For we have overcome him through our Big Daddy.

It's difficult for many to even comprehend God as a loving Father, because of their experiences with unloving ones. With abortion rampant & accepted, men are able to abandon their families much earlier. Men, we will be held more responsible for abortion in America than women. We are the leaders and the heads of households.

If we are held responsible for this atrocity, then what should our response be?
If we are to begin living as Godly fathers, then what does this look like?
Is adoption a practical answer that God is giving us to redeem the fatherless?

"I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist him." - Job (Job 29:12)

"[Jesus] defends the cause of the fatherless  and the widow... giving him food and clothing." (Deut. 10:18)
